The Story of Planting Seeds

Luke 8:4-15 - the Parable of the Sower
(4th Sunday of Luke)

 Jesus Christ told a story about a person who went out to plant seeds.  As this person was planting,  some of the seeds fell on the side of the road.  Some of the seeds were eaten by the birds.  Some seeds landed on the rocks and grew for a little bit, but died because they had no water.  Some of the seeds sprouted around the weeds and grew for a little bit, but the weeds soon took over and the sprouts died.   And some of the seeds fell in good soil and grew and grew and grew into a big tree with much fruit.  Jesus Christ said that He wants us to be like the good soil when we hear about God’s Word.  If our hearts are good and honest, like the good soil, the Good News about Jesus Christ is like the seeds so we can grow into strong Christian people who do good things for God.
